So Mr. Studlyhunk,
Why after having a really great time together for the past
few months with my boyfriend, did he just stop calling
me. The last time I saw him we went camping all weekend
and had a really great time. Now after calling on Wed
he doesn't call back till thurs and says its because
he's had a really bad week and doesn't call anyone when
he's not in a good mood.
You know, I've heard If a man says, "I'll call you," and
he doesn't, he didn't forget... he didn't lose your number...
he didn't die. He just didn't want to call you. I told
him this bothered me and he acted cool with it. Anyhow
when talking to him that Friday he confirms plans to go
out for my friend B-Day on Sat. and says he will call around
noon to let me know when he would be done working and I
haven't heard from him since.?? It is now Monday night.
What the hell is that all about?! He actually seemed like
a nice guy, and said he even wanted to meet my parents
if that was cool with me. I just don't understand it?

Dear Totally Confused,
I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but it sounds like
your boyfriend has lost interest in the relationship.
If this is the case, I have a good guess as to why he isn't
calling you when he says he will. It is probably because
he doesn't want to hurt you. This is a classic male phone
maneuver. He knows that if he calls you and says, "I
do not want to hang out with you this weekend," it
will hurt your feelings. So he is basically being a chicken,
and avoiding hurting you by not calling you at all.
I hope, if you really like this boy, that maybe you can
make this relationship work. If not, I say go out and find
a REAL man - one that will treat you better!!
